Who we are
Capital Steps is a front step and residential concrete contractor based in Ottawa, Ontario. This policy covers capitalsteps.ca. Questions about privacy can go to inquire@capitalsteps.ca or 343-997-9955.
What we collect
- What you send in a form — name, phone, email, area, project details, optional photos (including a photo of your front step for a design preview), and any estimator or quiz choices you chose to send with it.
- The page you sent it from — so we know which page or tool you were using.
- Basic site analytics — only if analytics are switched on for this site: anonymous, aggregated data such as pages viewed and device type.
The estimator, repair-or-replace quiz, MPa guide and step guide run in your browser. Your answers are not sent or stored anywhere unless you choose to submit them with a form. Questions typed into the step guide are not logged.
How we use it
- To reply to your request, book a site visit and prepare your quote.
- To keep a record of the work we quote or complete for you.
We don't sell, rent or trade your information. We don't add you to a marketing list unless you ask us to.
Consent (CASL)
When you tick the consent box on a form, you agree that we may contact you by phone, text or email about your request. You can withdraw consent at any time by telling us — reply "stop" to a text, reply to an email, or call us.
Where it's stored
The website and its forms run on Cloudflare, Inc. Form submissions and any photos you attach are stored privately in our Cloudflare account and a notification is emailed to our business inbox; Cloudflare may process and store this data on servers outside Canada. To filter spam, forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks your browser for signs of automated activity without tracking cookies. We keep project records only as long as we need them for the work, warranty questions if any apply, and our legal and tax obligations.
Cookies
The site itself doesn't need cookies to work. If analytics are enabled, Google Analytics may set cookies to count visits. You can block cookies in your browser without breaking the site.
Your rights
Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we're not required to keep it. Email inquire@capitalsteps.ca.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
